About Your Guide: Dana
A Native Perspective, A Personal Connection
I didn’t learn the history of the World Trade Center from a textbook. I lived it.
I am a native New Yorker—born and raised in the rhythm of this city. For years, I moved through the Financial District not as a guide, but as a professional. I understood these streets through the lens of numbers, markets, and the high-stakes energy of Wall Street.
But on September 11th, the city changed for me forever.
I lost my brother in the North Tower that morning. Since then, Lower Manhattan hasn’t just been a place of business; it has been a place of remembrance. When I walk these streets today, I see more than just steel and stone. I see the stories of the people who worked here, the courage of those who stayed, and the incredible compassion of the city that rose back up.
Why I Lead This Tour
I realized that visitors to the 9/11 Memorial were often missing the heartbeat of the story. They were getting facts and figures, misinformation, no information, distasteful accounts and everything in between.
But they weren't getting to the heart of what 9/11 meant to those of us who were here and while we survived, we will never be the same.
My mission is to bridge that gap. I combine my deep knowledge of the Financial District’s history with a deeply personal narrative of resilience. When you join me at Ground Zero, you aren’t just a tourist. You are a guest in my home city, and I am honored to share the real New York with you—the one that is tough, beautiful, and ultimately, unbreakable.
